About The Position

We are now hiring for General Cooks to work in our flight kitchen located at our Dorval unit (1185 Rodolphe Page Dorval, Quebec H4Y 1H3). This position is represented by a labor Union and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

At least 1-year experience cooking in a hotel kitchen/restaurant or manufacturing high volume catering environment.
Must be able to read, write and follow food specifications and menu guidelines in English.
Work assigned schedule which may include multiple shifts, weekends and holidays.
Arrive to work on-time.
Pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience cooking in various cuisines – Asian/Indian/Continental/ is an asset.
Culinary degree or cooking certification preferred.
The Red Seal certificate is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

Responsible for timely, proper, and efficient preparation of all food items according to the correct menu specifications, recipes, and passenger load requirements.
Ensure the proper use of raw materials in a continuous effort to keep wastage to a minimum.
Comply with and practice the company’s established Food Safety/ HACCP Policy and Procedures.
Assuring that the quality standards of the food is maintained all the time.
Co-ordinate with Assembly/Food Packing staff to make sure their work is not delayed, and all dished meals are in accordance with the airline specs.
Responsible for managing inventory, ensure FIFO is being followed.
