About The Position
EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Temporary Full-time General Cleaner for our National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) project in Washington D.C. (NARA I). This is a SEIU, Local 32BJ-represented position. This is a Temporary assignment: through August 8th with potential for extensions and could lead to a full-time regular assignment with EMCOR.
Requirements
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferred
- Proven working experience as a janitor (1 yr experience)
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Familiarity with SDS
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
- Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Must be able to work M- F 7:00am - 3:30pm or other shifts as assigned
Responsibilities
- Clean, stock and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, etc.)
- Dust and wipe down surfaces
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
- Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines
- Notify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects, if required
- Performs other duties as assigned
