Our clients include commercial office buildings, banks, schools, corporate headquarters, branch offices, industrial facilities, medical facilities as well as major department store chains located throughout the United States. PRIMARY PURPOSE To perform a variety of cleaning activities in assigned buildings/facilities, keeping in clean, sanitary and orderly condition and to perform other tasks related to the area of assignment.

Requirements

  • Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
  • Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, Operating powered and non-powered equipment, Lifting/carrying 1 – 30 lbs. equipment, supplies, trash, Push/pull, using both hands and arms while performing cleaning duties, exerting 5-35 lbs force, Climbing stairs and ladders while cleaning upper areas, drapes, Bending/twisting/balancing at waist, knees, neck throughout shift, Kneeling/crouching/crawling while cleaning lower areas, retrieving supplies from lower shelves, Reaching, handling, grasping and fingering while operating equipment, using hand and power tools, wiping and cleaning surfaces and using cleaning equipment. Overhead reaching required throughout shift.
  • Sight – in performing cleaning tasks and maintaining safety standards. Requires depth perception, hand and eye coordination in operation of equipment and tool use.

Responsibilities

  • High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, begin cleaning in a counter clockwise direction around the room - high dust surfaces above shoulder height, i.e., lights above doors, curtain tips, vents and ledges.
  • Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: Using a germicidal solution, work in a counter clockwise direction around room, sanitizing surfaces below shoulder height, i.e., ledges, chairs, telephone, countertops and trashcans. Remove fingerprints and smudges from doorknobs and walls. Spot clean windows.
  • Bathroom Cleaning: Using germicidal solution, wipe down sink area, toilet seat and outside of toilet bowl. Clean the inside of the toilet with a Johnnie Mop and proper germicidal solution, paying attention to the rim. Clean and check soap and paper dispensers daily and refill as needed.
  • Empty Trash Cans: If liquid is present, remove the liner, wipe the trash can, and place a clean liner inside.
  • Floor Dusting or Vacuuming: Using a treated dust mophead, begin at the back of the room using the “S” stroke to catch dust on the leading edge. Dust under all furniture and in restrooms. Clean the mophead with a counter brush and dispose of dust. When vacuuming, start at the back of the room and work toward the door, ensuring all areas under furniture are cleaned.
  • Grounds care: Clean outside areas multiple times daily, including emptying and cleaning ash urns and trash cans, policing sidewalks, flower beds and curb lines for trash and cigarette butts, spot cleaning spills on sidewalks, removing gum, wiping benches and vending machines, wiping lower window ledges, high dusting for dust and cobwebs, cleaning public area glass as necessary, and policing the parking lot for trash.
  • Public Common Areas: Dust mop and spot mop main hallways. Clean glass several times daily. Clean planters inside and out, ensuring they are free from bird waste. Check for cobwebs and perform high dusting of window areas at least twice a week, checking all corners and edges for debris.
  • Food Court: Clean, remove trash, and sanitize tables. Place chairs back under tables. Spot clean spills. Empty and clean trash cans. Remove dirty trays to the washroom and clean using a tray power washer. Stack clean trays for recycled use. Police outside eating areas.
  • Floor Sanitizing: Using the proper germicidal solution, start at the back of the room when sanitizing the floor. Mop under furniture and behind doors as you back out of the room.
  • Your Inspection: After completing the room, mentally review cleaning steps and visually check furniture placement, making corrections as needed.
  • Hall – lobby – stairs – water fountains – furniture – wall spotting and high dusting is done daily.
  • Customer Relations and Service: Knock lightly on occupied doors before entering. Be friendly and cheerful to customers, answering questions courteously or referring them to someone who can. Report broken or out-of-order items to the supervisor. Work quietly and speak quietly, reducing noise. Stay in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise. Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance. Report to the supervisor if work is not completed by the end of the shift. Always be courteous.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor and/or Account Manager (this could include, but is not limited to, floor care – stripping and waxing floors, extraction and bonneting of carpets, auto scrub and buffing of floors).
