About The Position

The Civil Craftsman/Workers are responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining various civil structures such as buildings, and other infrastructure facilities. The role involves working with a range of materials such as concrete, steel, wood, and other construction materials. The Civil Craftsman must have knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years working as a carpenter on an industrial construction project.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
  • Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
  • Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work a full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification.
  • Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
  • Must pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Constructing, repairing and maintaining various civil structures such as buildings, and other infrastructure facilities.
  • Working with a range of materials such as concrete, steel, wood, and other construction materials.
  • Construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and metal objects and/or concrete forms.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Identify all tools required for tasks.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
  • Construct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed concrete forms.
  • Build and construct wooden forms.
  • Work on miscellaneous construction projects such as but not limited to building decks and steps, building bulletin boards, and building any additional wooden structures.
  • Assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
