About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for General Cardiology in Tucson, AZ, covering outpatient services with hospital call coverage. The coverage period is from June 1, 2026, to August 4, 2026. The role involves clinical duties from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and on-call duties during weekends, specifically the third week of each month for 7 consecutive days, with additional dates from July 24 to August 2, 2026. The call type is beeper call. Patients seen are adult cardiology patients, with a daily volume of 25-30 in clinic and 5-20 in the hospital. Admissions are approximately 3 per call cycle, and rounding on assigned patients (5-20) is included. The case mix includes general cardiology (outpatient and inpatient), ICU exposure, and diagnostic and interventional cardiology. The facility uses the Cerner EMR system and has full cardiology and hospital support services available. This coverage is to fill a vacancy. Temporary privileges are available.

Requirements

• Active AZ license or IMLC
• BC in Cardiology
• ACLS certification

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Echocardiography and TEE
• Experience with Nuclear cardiology studies
• Experience with Cardiac catheterization
• Experience with STEMI management
• Experience with Invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient cardiology clinic coverage
• Manage inpatient cardiology consults and admissions
• Perform rounding on assigned patients
• Respond to call coverage including phone consults and inpatient needs
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures as required
