About The Position
This role involves a variety of tasks to support cafeteria operations, ensuring food is prepared, served, and the environment is kept clean and organized. The individual will interact with customers, prepare food items using various equipment, and maintain kitchen hygiene.
Requirements
- Ability to use manual and electric appliances for food preparation
- Experience with kitchen equipment such as deep fryer, grill, oven, and dispensers
- Skill in preparing fast food items, beverages, and coffee/tea specialties
- Ability to serve customers at counters or buffet tables
- Knowledge of stocking refrigerators and salad bars
- Ability to maintain records of food quantities used
- Willingness to handle payments for food items
- Proficiency in washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans
- Ability to wash and peel vegetables and fruit
- Capability to clean work tables, cupboards, and appliances
- Willingness to remove trash and clean garbage containers
- Ability to unpack and store supplies
- Skills in sweeping and mopping floors
Responsibilities
- Take customers' orders
- Clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
- Use deep fryer, grill, oven, dispensers and other equipment to prepare fast food items such as sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, salads, ice cream dishes, milkshakes and other beverages
- Portion, assemble, and wrap food or place it directly on plates for service to patrons, and package take-out food
- Use equipment to prepare hot beverages such as coffee and tea specialties
- Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars and keep records of the quantities of food used
- Receive payment for food items purchased
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwasher or by hand
- Place dishes in storage area
- Wash and peel vegetables and fruit
- Wash work tables, cupboards and appliances
- Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
- Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards and other storage areas
- Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff
