Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring manuals and schematics.
  • Effectively use component maintenance manuals to troubleshoot and test components.
  • Effectively use aircraft manuals to troubleshoot and repair avionics and electrical systems.
  • Basic avionics skills.
  • Sound judgment when working with others in a team environment and in matters related to aircraft maintenance and safety.
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Provide the minimum required set of tools.
  • Graduation from an accredited avionics school OR Military training in avionics or electronics OR An associate degree or higher in electronics OR Eighteen months of experience in the avionics industry OR A&P certification with prior avionics experience.
  • Must hold an FCC GROL license. If the FCC GROL license is not held at the time of employment, it must be obtained within six months of the hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • A&P Mechanics who are interested in this General Avionics position may also apply, provided they intend to acquire the required time to qualify for testing for the FCC Radio License.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and component repairs in a shop environment.
  • Work on aircraft systems.
  • Perform avionics checks and troubleshoot aircraft systems as needed.
  • Maintain proficiency in completing all required documentation and paperwork.
  • Repair avionics and electronic components in an avionics shop environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
