About The Position

Miller Industries is seeking a General Assembler to work on our 1st Shift at our Burton location. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, with overtime as required on weekends as needed for production. Miller Industries, LLC designs, engineers, and manufactures custom products at its two locations in Fenton, Michigan, with additional support in Texas and Georgia. The divisions of the business include Miller Fabricated Systems, Flex Air, Miller Industries Representatives, and Fusion Cooling. Together, they provide custom steel fabrication, custom commercial and industrial HVAC systems and applications, and modular equipment rooms for refrigeration. They have been primary suppliers to automotive, healthcare, and institutional customers worldwide. Requirements

  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
  • 2+ years of experience as a skilled carpenter, drywall technician, framer, or general laborer required.
  • Experience working with different carpentry materials, and understanding of carpentry techniques/methods of installation construction.
  • Good understanding of basic math and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Walking/Standing/Bending for long periods of time.
  • Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties.
  • Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds.
  • Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and operate objects, tools, and controls.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, plastics, drywall and composites of multiple materials.
  • Measure and arrange materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from Supervisor.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as tape measures, levels, framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
  • Fit and install windows and doors.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
