General Assembler - Entry Level (Urgent Need)

About The Position

This is an entry-level contract position for a General Assembler at a Medical Device Company. The role requires rigorous upper body movement for six or more hours of the shift, fast product flow, and the use of hands to grip latex catheters to separate them from metal forms. The position demands upper body strength and gripping catheters for the duration of the shift. The assembler must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. and up to 50 lbs., and be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for the duration of the shift, which may be 8, 10, or 12 hours. The role involves performing various tasks in the fabrication, manufacture, assembly, testing, and packaging of medical devices, as well as setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment. Quality inspections and adherence to SOPs and quality guidelines are also part of the responsibilities. The position requires the ability to read and comprehend English, communicate effectively in English, report to work on time, work the duration of the shift, and communicate verbally and nonverbally to build positive work relationships. The assembler may be required to learn more than one job role and may use automated manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) to two (2) year of manufacturing assembly experience.
• Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand.
• Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend specifications written in English and perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to use basic tools of measurement, such as microscopes.
• Must be able to work flexible and/or extended hours and report to work on a regular, punctual basis.
• Has good attention to detail.
• Ability to get along with people and be able to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities.
• Ability to lift minimum of 20 lbs. and up to 50 lbs.
• Able to sit, stand, and/or walk duration of shift (shift may be 8, 10 or 12 hours).
• Ability to read and comprehend written documents in English language.
• Ability to write and speak English to convey safety and quality opportunities.
• Ability to report to work on time, work duration of shift.

• US Citizens or GC Holders or GC EAD or OPT or EAD or CPT

Responsibilities

• Use of hands to grip latex catheters to separate from metal forms.
• Perform any combination of tasks involved in the fabrication, manufacture, assembly, testing and packaging of medical devices.
• Set up, operate, perform maintenance on and troubleshoot equipment.
• Conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
• Works within clearly defined SOPs and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.
• May require use of automated manufacturing equipment.
• Learn more than one job role.
