About The Position

Assembles parts of various materials such as plastic, fabric, wood, metal, rubber, or paperboard, to produce small products or subassemblies by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Entry level computer skills are necessary to perform this job successfully, including the ability to learn Microsoft Outlook and email.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The majority of the work is considered "stand up" work. The employee will regularly lift and move 25 pounds, frequently lift and move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds. Team lifting or finding a mechanical advantage when possible is preferred for dealing with items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Positions parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Bolts, cuts, stamps, sews, screws, clips, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Works at station as member of assembly, sewing or cutting team. Assemble or cut one or two specific parts and passing unit to another worker.
  • Operates, loads and or unloads previously setup machines such as packaging machines, drill presses, tape dispensing machines, RF-welding machines, riveting machines, milling machines and cutting machines to perform fastening, fitting, or light metal cutting operation on assembly line.
  • Operates, loads and or unloads box making machine as well as fills bottles of Cover Care with an automated bottle filling machine.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require or shifts from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.
  • Keep the work area and building clean and organized.
  • Implements improvements.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
