As civilization electrifies, energy demand will continue to outpace the deployment of terrestrial infrastructure required to deliver it. Space solar energy has the potential to decouple energy generation from geography, weather, and traditional transmission constraints, creating an entirely new layer of global energy infrastructure. Energy is building that new layer: satellites that redirect solar energy from geosynchronous orbit to existing terrestrial solar projects using passively safe near-infrared light. Building a system that has never existed requires people who are comfortable working where physics, engineering, manufacturing, and execution meet. It requires builders who are energized by difficult problems, move comfortably across disciplines, and measure progress by evidence.
