49200 - General Adult Psychiatry – Registered Nurse 2, Inpatient
About The Position
This adult psychiatry unit is one of three general adult units which provide care and treatment for individuals age, 18+, who require acute stabilization of intensive psychiatric symptoms related to a number of disorders including: depression, psychosis, and bipolar disorder. Nursing care on 49200 is utilized utilizing a modified team model of care and milieu management. A recovery oriented theoretical framework is utilized to engage patients in therapeutic groups and activities throughout the day. Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills are necessary to work successfully within our interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
- Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
- Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
- Assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
