About The Position

Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a General Adult Psychiatrist on the beautiful Sunshine Coast! This hospital-based position in Powell River, BC, involves serving diverse mental health and addiction needs with two full-time adult psychiatrists. The role includes a combination of outpatient and inpatient duties on a 7-bed psychiatric unit. This position offers no overhead and no on-call duties. Comprehensive allied health care supports are available on-site, including ACT, ICMT, child psychiatry, counselling, and close collaborative care with family physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists. ECT is provided on-site. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy fast-paced, acute, and varied team-based work. Applicants with leadership and quality/program improvement experience or training would be a bonus. CME and physician leadership education incentives are available. The region offers abundant outdoor beauty, recreational opportunities, international music programs, high-level hockey programming, and excellent schools.

Requirements

• Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Full
• Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
