About The Position

Team SPARK is driving Generative AI transformation across CPSE, spanning embedded software, platform systems, product enablement, and engineering infrastructure. We are seeking a Staff Engineer to help implement AI-first engineering practices that improve developer productivity, software quality, delivery velocity, and engineering innovation. This role works closely with SPARK leadership, GenAI platform teams, and engineering stakeholders to execute the roadmap. The Staff Engineer will take technical direction, own defined workstreams, build reusable AI-enabled workflows, and drive practical adoption of secure, measurable GenAI solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building, integrating, or deploying AI/ML, GenAI, LLM applications, developer productivity tools, or AI-enabled engineering workflows.
  • Strong understanding of GenAI concepts, LLM usage patterns, prompt/context design, model/tool integration, evaluation, and engineering applications.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python, C, C++, or Go, with familiarity across design, implementation, testing, CI/CD, and release workflows.
  • Experience in embedded, platform, systems, or performance-sensitive software environments.
  • Ability to independently execute assigned initiatives while collaborating with leadership, architects, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI agents, RAG/context-aware systems, MCP services, tool-calling workflows, evaluation harnesses, prompt/skill libraries, or AI automation platforms.
  • Experience with AI-enabled developer productivity use cases such as code generation, review support, defect triage, log analysis, test generation, documentation, or security analysis.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Android, RTOS, device drivers, BSP, SoC bring-up, hardware/software interfaces, camera, multimedia, sensors, or edge AI deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned GenAI workstreams with clear deliverables, milestones, adoption goals, and success criteria.
  • Convert prioritized engineering use cases into prototypes, pilots, and production-ready workflows.
  • Build and maintain AI-enabled SDLC capabilities for code understanding, generation, review support, debugging, test automation, documentation, and release readiness.
  • Develop reusable agents, prompts, tools, MCP integrations, evaluation flows, and automation patterns based on leadership direction and team feedback.
  • Partner with embedded, platform, and software teams to onboard workflows, resolve integration issues, improve usability, and increase adoption.
  • Track execution status, usage, adoption, productivity impact, risks, and blockers; share concise updates with leadership and stakeholders.
