About The Position
ADM Mechanical is seeking a Gearbox/Rotating Equipment Repair Tech for day shift at their facility in Decatur, Illinois. This is a full-time, hourly position with a pay rate of $29.93 - $35.69/hour, depending on experience. The role involves the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of industrial rotating equipment to OEM specifications. Candidates will work in a team atmosphere and may be required to work overtime as needed. The position requires the ability to work safely, climb stairs and ladders, stand for extended periods, lift 50 pounds, and use precision measuring tools. A high school diploma/GED is required, and ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
Requirements
- Experience doing disassembly and assembly of industrial rotating equipment
- Able to work safely in a team environment and be quality conscience
- Able to climb stairs and ladders, sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Able to use precision measuring tools including but not limited to, Vernier calipers, OD Micrometers, ID Micrometers, Bore Gauges, and dial indicators
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Able to read and interpret blueprints
- Exhibit regular and prompt attendance
- Display strong communication skills (oral and written)
- High school diploma/GED is required
- Successful completion of a background check
Responsibilities
- Disassemble equipment to remove parts and make repairs
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear
- Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning parts
- Clean, lubricate or adjust parts
- Repair or maintain the operating conditions of the rotating equipment to OEM specifications
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections or repairs
- Record repairs and maintenance performed
- Study blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct repair and assembly
- Record parts or materials used
- Accurately documenting failure analysis and repair steps taken
- Test run equipment after repair and take vibration readings
