Provide leadership and line management for a section within manufacturing function, coordinating their workloads, providing support, monitoring any issues, and ensuring production targets are met. Support Supervisors and Department Managers with day-to-day management of the manufacturing area, overseeing a group of members ensuring efficient operations.

Requirements

Leadership and line management experience within a manufacturing function.
Ability to coordinate workloads, provide support, and monitor issues.
Experience supporting Supervisors and Department Managers.
Overseeing a group of members to ensure efficient operations.
Knowledge of safety rules and regulations, and proper PPE usage.
Familiarity with Plant Intelligence Centers for workstation management and labor prioritization.
Understanding of Operational Excellence Manuals and associated policies.
Ability to ensure proper staffing alignment and communication of work assignments.
Experience training operators on Work Instructions.
Ability to ensure operators have necessary tools.
Performing daily audits and implementing corrective actions.
Monitoring production and scrap rates against standards.
Monitoring and documenting product quality through visual checks and discussions.
Communicating machine or mechanical issues.
Coordinating with relief and material handlers.
Conducting line clearances.
Acting as a liaison between different roles.
Conducting huddle meetings.
Responsible for proper documentation.
Ability to safely use forklifts and other equipment.
Maintaining a neat and orderly work area.

Responsibilities

Observe and enforce compliance with established safety rules and regulations, ensuring proper PPE is worn by associates
Monitor the Plant Intelligence Center to manage assigned workstations, prioritize labor, and attend meetings as required.
Ensure adherence to the WPS Operational Excellence Manual and all associated policies and processes
Ensure staffing is properly aligned and that work assignments are properly communicated
Ensure new and existing Operators are trained to the defined Work Instructions
Ensure new and existing Operators have all the tools required to run the assigned job
Perform daily audit requirements and make and or direct needed corrective actions.
Monitor hourly production and scrap versus standard, and obtain support from resources if outside of the acceptable target
Monitor and document the quality of the product through random visual checks, discussions with Operators, Quality Inspectors, and communicate all potential issues /risks immediately to the Supervisor
Communicate machine or mechanical issues to Process Tech’s, Maintenance Techs, and/or Supervisors
Coordinates with Relief and or Material Handlers to keep materials and supplies in stock
Ensure a proper Line Clearance is conducted at all areas assigned in relation to a product/process change
Act as liaison between the Supervisor, Relief Operators, and Operators
Conduct huddle meetings to keep all associates informed
Responsible for proper documentation in assigned work areas.
Safely use forklifts and other equipment needed for the job task.
Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition, ensuring workstations are maintained in safe conditions
