About The Position

As a Cloud Architect Contractor, you will support the Client project team by designing and implementing cloud solutions that align with business and technical requirements. You will develop cloud architecture strategies and plans, design and implement cloud infrastructure, evaluate cloud technologies and tools, provide technical guidance and support to development teams, and ensure compliance with best practices and standards for cloud security, performance, and cost optimization. In this role, you will build and run internal platform capabilities, including automation, golden paths, and guardrails, to enable secure and scalable application onboarding on GCP.

Requirements

• GCP
• Python – Advanced Level (6–9 years of experience)
• 7+ years of experience with: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Python
• Terraform
• Security
• Deep hands-on experience with GCP and Terraform at scale.
• Strong Python automation experience.
• Experience leading platform teams and operating production-grade internal platforms.
• Strong security and governance mindset in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud architecture strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure, including network design, security configurations, and cloud services.
• Evaluate and select appropriate cloud technologies and tools to meet project needs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to development teams during the implementation of cloud solutions.
• Ensure compliance with best practices and standards for cloud security, performance, and cost optimization.
• Lead platform engineering delivery for onboarding automation, including Terraform modules, pipelines, and validations.
• Define engineering standards, including module quality, state strategy, pull request controls, and drift management.
• Embed security-by-default guardrails and partner on compliance evidence automation.
• Operate the platform by ensuring reliability, incident response, SLOs/SLAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
