About The Position

Adastra is seeking a GCP Cloud Architect/Engineer to design and implement scalable data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will work closely with business stakeholders, data science teams, and technical governance groups to define requirements, design integration patterns, and deliver cloud-native data solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing modern data pipelines, enabling data-driven decision making, and ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and governance standards.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and delivering cloud-based data platforms and enterprise-scale data solutions
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Advanced experience with BigQuery including data modeling, optimization, performance tuning, and best practices
  • Experience building data processing pipelines using Dataflow with Python
  • Strong SQL development skills
  • Strong Python development experience
  • Experience developing solutions using Cloud Run and/or Cloud Functions
  • Experience working with Pub/Sub for event-driven architectures and data integration
  • Experience with Cloud Storage and Firestore
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance requirements
  • Experience working with business stakeholders, architects, and governance teams to define and implement solutions
  • Experience creating architecture documentation, integration designs, and technical standards
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification
  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification
  • Experience with GCP services such as Dataproc, Cloud Composer, GKE, and Vertex AI
  • Experience supporting multi-cloud environments including AWS and Azure
  • Experience with data warehousing, analytics, and reporting solutions
  • Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices
  • Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies
  • Knowledge of AI/ML platforms and data science workflows

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines using GCP native services
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and data science teams to gather requirements and define solution designs
  • Design data integration patterns that align with enterprise architecture and governance standards
  • Work with technical, security, and governance teams to obtain approvals for solution designs and integrations
  • Develop and optimize data processing solutions using BigQuery and Dataflow
  • Build and maintain cloud-native services using Cloud Run and Cloud Functions
  • Design and implement event-driven architectures using Pub/Sub
  • Develop data storage solutions leveraging Cloud Storage and Firestore
  • Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data platform performance and reliability
  • Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation standards
  • Support cloud migration, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives
