About The Position

Ensures that production personnel are supplied with sufficient quality and quantity of gauges to complete the customer driven production mission and verifies that all gauges are in proper repair and calibrated. This role involves performing and maintaining appropriate Measurement System Analysis, supporting gauge calibration for off-shift hours on an "on call" basis, and maintaining the gauge inventory. The coordinator will perform gauge lab activities to support production and engineering research, confer with multi-disciplinary teams, and originate product/process and containment/improvement documentation. Recommendations for modifications to quality or production standards, improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality are expected. The role also includes performing daily CMM checks for production validation and ensuring adherence to Quality, Materials, and Safety & Environmental systems.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Functional knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, layout inspections, and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively TO customers and/or employees of organization.
  • Must be able to read and understand English.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of statistical process control.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and maintains appropriate Measurement System Analysis.

  • Confers with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Originates product/process and containment/improvement documentation, such as corrective action forms, change request reviews, etc.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Responsible for development and adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the Quality, Materials, and Safety & Environmental systems.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Performs daily CMM checks for production validation.
