About The Position

The Air Gateway Manual outlines the expectations, requirements and standards of each Gateway Operation. The Air Gateway Agent is responsible to ensure that these policies are adhered to at all times.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a “direct threat” to the health or safety of self or others.
  • Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.
  • Knowledge of international and domestic geography.
  • Knowledge of freight / cargo industry, routing and transportation procedures.
  • Knowledge of negotiation strategies and practices.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles.
  • 1-3 years job experience.
  • PC skills, MS-Office.

Responsibilities

  • Process and close MAWB for consolidations and back to back AWB’s (Airway Bills).
  • Ensure that file contains all necessary documents and copies are in proper sequence.
  • Do what it takes to meet and exceed Internal and External customers’ defined needs and expectations.
  • Book space with carriers.
  • Ensure all MAWBs are rated correctly.
  • Obtain spot codes on all special negotiated rates with carriers.
  • Enter spot rates and codes in C1.
  • Track AWB and provide COB information to the respective branches.
  • Research on all CCA, weight and rate discrepancies sent by carriers.
  • Filing of files.
  • Perform other duties as needed or requested.
