About The Position
Starkey, Inc. is the oldest community-based nonprofit in Sedgwick County serving people with disabilities. As a Gateway- Behavior Support Specialist, you will support individuals diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability in a day program setting. Your role will involve assisting with behavioral skills development, basic living skills, socialization skills, and integrating individuals into the community. You will teach, learn, and interact with our persons served to help them reach their potential by utilizing positive behavior supports. This role also includes performing or assisting individuals served with personal hygiene and basic domestic duties.
Requirements
- Must have High School Diploma, GED, or Work-Keys Bronze Certificate
- Be at least 18 years old
- Valid Driver's License for at least 2 years with a good driving record.
- Must be available for 2-4 weeks of PAID training, M-F 8:30am-5:00pm.
Nice To Haves
- ASL (American Sign Language) preferred
