About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. We are seeking a Gateway Antenna Engineer to monitor the connectivity and operational status of global gateway and telemetry stations, providing service assurance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution. This role troubleshoots anomalies and network failures, performs preventive and corrective maintenance on satellite teleport systems and infrastructure, and provides first-line, customer-facing technical support. This person collaborates closely with cross-functional teams for escalations, upgrades, and system changes, and operates fault management systems to track network health and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Satellite or Cellular Communications.
  • Hands-on experience with RF systems, high-power amplifiers, converters, antenna drive systems, and baseband equipment.
  • Solid knowledge of IP networks, fiber optics, modems, multiplexers, and broadband systems.
  • Proficiency in remote monitoring tools, system diagnostics, and remote desktop platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring and fault management tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor connectivity and operational status of global gateway and telemetry stations.
  • Troubleshoot anomalies and network failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and escalate as required.
  • Maintain detailed incident documentation, manage trouble tickets, and generate reports.
  • Ensure service assurance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution.
  • Provide first-line, customer-facing technical support (phone, email, chat).
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on satellite teleport systems and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for escalations, upgrades, and system changes.
  • Operate and maintain fault management systems to track network health and performance.
