About The Position

Gate Options is seeking experienced technicians to join their growing team. This role involves diagnosing and repairing commercial and residential automated gate systems, including swing, slide, and barrier gate systems, along with related access controls. The technician will be responsible for electrical and mechanical repairs, replacing components, performing welding and light fabrication, and repairing gate hardware. A key aspect of the role is completing service documentation accurately and representing Gate Options professionally with customers.

Requirements

  • Ability to independently diagnose and repair commercial and residential automated gate systems.
  • Experience installing and programming commercial and residential gate operators.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Comfortable using a multimeter and reading wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors.
  • Can work independently.
  • Takes pride in clean, quality work.
  • Enjoys and excels at troubleshooting difficult problems.
  • Communicates well with customers and associates.
  • Is prompt and keeps commitments.
  • Wants to be part of a strong and growing team.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of automated gate experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: DoorKing, LiftMaster, HySecurity, Nice, FAAC, Linear, Telephone Entry Systems, Vehicle Loop Systems, Photo Eyes, Radio Receivers, Keypads.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair commercial and residential automated gate systems.
  • Install and service swing, slide, barrier gate systems, and related access controls.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Replace control boards, loops, photo eyes, receivers, and external sensing devices.
  • Perform welding and light fabrication as needed.
  • Repair hinges, rollers, tracks, wheels, locks, and gate hardware.
  • Complete service documentation with photos and notes.
  • Represent Gate Options professionally with customers.
