About The Position

The role of Gate Attendant is responsible for greeting guest, providing information about the facilities, completing appropriate passes and provide directions to the desired location. This position ensures that each entry into the facility is a member/member’s guest, or a guest of the facilities inn. The Gate Attendant greets guests or vendors and logs their information in the system. They also provide a friendly greeting to people leaving, collect any passes or fees and log their information in the system. The role involves communicating information about the grounds in a positive manner, answering the phone and responding to the radio in a polite, courteous tone. The Gate Attendant must notify leadership immediately of any incidences or extreme/unusual circumstances that could potentially harm someone or the campground or if a medical, fire or other emergency occurs. When the office is closed, they accurately complete all appropriate passes or receipts, direct traffic in a safe and efficient manner, and notify the office of needed supplies, cash needs, maintenance or concerns. They provide timely information to leadership about guest’s suggestions, requests, concerns or complaints using guest comments form. When the office is closed, they utilize patrol to deliver messages, assist guests, route traffic and provide support during a medical, fire or other emergency. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred
  • Prior in-person customer service skills preferred
  • Detailed-oriented and thorough
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way
  • Ability to work independently or follow direction as assigned
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office operations
  • Basic knowledge of the surrounding areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of general hospitality
