About The Position
UT Health Athens is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Gastroenterologist to join its practice in Athens, Texas. This is a faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing within UT Health East Texas facilities. The role involves providing both inpatient and outpatient services, working alongside one physician and two advanced providers. The practice utilizes advanced technology such as Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe to enhance efficiency and work-life balance. The position offers the opportunity to work with residents and is open to both experienced physicians and new graduates. UT Health Athens is undergoing significant growth, with a new medical office building scheduled for completion in 2027.
Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible General Gastroenterologist.
- MD or DO degree.
- Texas Medical License or ability to obtain one.
Nice To Haves
- ERCP experience is desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services.
- Work collaboratively with one physician and two advanced providers.
- Utilize Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology.
- Manage approximately 15 patients per day in the outpatient clinic.
- Potentially work with residents.
- Perform ERCP procedures (experience desired).
