Gastroenterologist
About The Position
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a Locum Tenens position in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient clinical duties, with a focus on procedures. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, with a shift schedule of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, operating on a 1 week on/1 week off rotation. The role includes 1 day of clinic and 4 days of procedures per week. The average daily patient volume is 28-30 for inpatient, 3-4 for ICU/IMCU, and 10-14 procedures per day. Admissions and rounding are required. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR system, and anesthesia backup is available for conscious sedation on certain days. The support staff includes RNs, MAs, PA/NPs, and office staff. The position requires supervision of APPs. The facility has 3 Endo Suites, 6 ICU beds, and 8 IMCU beds.

- Board Certified
- WI license or IMLC
- BLS, ACLS certifications
- Fellowship required
- Hospital Privileges Required
Nice To Haves
- No ERCP or EUS required (not performed at facility)
Responsibilities
- Provide gastroenterology clinic and scheduled procedure coverage in an inpatient/outpatient setting.
- Perform upper and lower GI endoscopies, colonoscopies with biopsy and polypectomy, sigmoidoscopies, and esophageal dilatation/manometry.
- Manage inpatient consults for a census averaging 28-30 patients plus 3-4 ICU/IMCU patients.
- Collaborate with a skilled endoscopy team in three new endo suites, with anesthesia available for conscious sedation on select days.
- Participate in a week-on/week-off rotation.
- Supervise APPs.
