About The Position

The Gas Turbine Fluid Systems Engineer II is a mid-level engineering role responsible for the design, analysis, and lifecycle support of gas turbine auxiliary systems. This position supports fielded systems, develops engineering modifications to resolve operational issues, and designs auxiliary systems that enable advanced operating modes including hydrogen blending, emissions control, power augmentation, alternate fuels, and turndown optimization.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Aerospace, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of engineering design experience or equivalent directly related experience.
  • Experience with gas turbine auxiliary systems, process engineering, piping systems, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, and B31.12 piping codes.
  • Experience with SmartPlant tools, 3D modeling, and engineering analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of gas turbine systems, materials, controls integration, and plant operations.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with lifecycle management systems, engineering software, and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop auxiliary systems for combustion turbines supporting natural gas, oil, air, hydrogen, steam, and water systems.
  • Perform feasibility studies, detailed engineering, and process calculations.
  • Specify requirements for vendor-supplied equipment including valves, compressors, heat exchangers, instrumentation, and pipe supports.
  • Perform flow analysis using AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom.
  • Develop and interpret PFDs and P&IDs using SmartPlant P&ID.
  • Utilize 3D design tools for piping layouts and routing.
  • Support piping stress analysis, materials selection, and pipe support design.
  • Participate in HAZOP reviews and ensure compliance with applicable piping codes.
  • Prepare BOMs, installation documentation, operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Provide commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and operator training support.
  • Support ISO 9001 compliance, documentation controls, and configuration management activities.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for field issues and operational events.
  • Utilize Windchill and lifecycle management tools to manage engineering data.
  • Support EPC project execution and customer requirements.
  • Travel 10–20% domestically and internationally as required.
