Responsible for ensuring reliable and cost-effective natural gas supply to meet the forecasted demand of Tucson Electric Power, UNS Electric, and UNS Gas. Collaborates on daily gas trading activities to optimize the company’s portfolio of transportation and storage assets, incorporating forward-looking volume forecasts and price signals to support informed decision-making. Identifies and executes opportunities to monetize excess natural gas, pipeline capacity, and storage positions through structured transactions and market-based strategies, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements while maximizing asset value. Evaluates existing transportation agreements and large wholesale gas customer demand to maintain sufficient system capacity, optimize portfolio and long-term contract performance. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with natural gas suppliers, pipeline operators, and other key counterparties to support reliable operations and market access. Synthesizes market intelligence (forward curves, basis spreads, pipeline constraints, volumes and regional fundamentals) into actionable trading and commercial strategies. Develops, implements, and continuously enhances trading strategies aligned with the companies’ participation in current and evolving wholesale markets, ensuring operational reliability, cost efficiency, and strategic positioning.
