About The Position

The Gas Service Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining gas meters, regulators, gas lines and gas appliances. Testing for gas leaks. Working on boilers, ovens, gas fireplaces, gas-fired refrigerators, hydronic heating systems, and related. Installing and connecting appliances to gas, water, and electrical supplies. Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.

Requirements

• Must pass the EEI CAST Test.
• Satisfactory completion of a pre-screening (for new hires), completion of company training programs, evaluations and written test.
• Pass a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test in accordance with D.O.T regulations.
• Possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work independently and outdoors in all types of varying weather conditions.
• Physically capable of walking long distances while carrying gas meters/tools.
• 2 years of related mechanical experience.
• History of safe working habits.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational, mechanical, or plumbing training.
• Gas utility experience preferred.
