About The Position

Under limited guidance, this position will confirm and schedule nominations in compliance with procedures, contract provisions, and relevant pipeline deadlines. The role involves entering all pertinent nomination data into nomination systems, tracking the movement of physical gas sales, and maintaining data showing contractual movements of gas. The Gas Scheduler must maintain knowledge of volume obligations in customer contracts and ensure nominations are within contract limits. This role requires working with Operations and the Gas Marketing team to minimize imbalances by communicating timely when problems arise. The position ensures all gas purchases have an applicable delivery point and all gas sold has an applicable supply point. The Gas Scheduler monitors and communicates pipeline information, posting timely to Traders and the team. Additionally, the role reviews the efficiency of nomination and accounting activities, reviews, verifies, reconciles, and resolves gas supply and transportation invoices for accuracy, discrepancies, and related questions. The position evaluates contract compliance and accuracy through review of transportation and gathering invoices, and maintains and actualizes internal trading systems including transportation, markets, production, pipelines, and rates. The Gas Scheduler communicates between suppliers and customers to ensure contractual nomination data is coordinated through the delivery chain and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A credit check is required for this position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Marketing, Engineering, Business, or related field of study from an accredited institution.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Natural Gas industry, or related experience; OR At least four (4) years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Natural Gas industry, or related experience.
  • Demonstration of highly ethical and professional behavior and decision-making skills when working with financial assets and data.
  • Ability to understand and apply sound financial responsibility when analyzing and processing transactions.
  • Good understanding of Economic and Accounting principles and practices, financial markets, and reporting of financial data.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations and agency rules pertaining to areas of responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel.
  • Basic understanding of the movement of natural gas.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
  • Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to apply routine mathematical concepts to work related operations.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, demanding, and constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm and schedule nominations in compliance with procedures, contract provisions, and relevant pipeline deadlines.
  • Enter all pertinent nomination data in to the nomination systems.
  • Track the movement of all physical gas sales and maintain data showing the contractual movements of gas.
  • Maintain knowledge of volume obligations contained in customer contracts and ensure nominations are within contract limits.
  • Work with Operations and Gas Marketing team to ensure that imbalances are minimized by communicating in a timely manner when problems arise.
  • Ensure that all gas purchases have an applicable delivery point and all gas sold has an applicable supply point.
  • Monitor and communicate pipeline information, posting timely to the Traders and the team.
  • Review the efficiency of the nomination and accounting activities to ensure functions are running in an optimal manner.
  • Review, verify, reconcile, and resolve gas supply and transportation invoices to ensure accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and answer questions pertaining to gas scheduling.
  • Evaluate contract compliance and accuracy through review of transportation and gathering invoices.
  • Maintain and actualize internal trading systems including but not limited to transportation, markets, production, pipelines, and rates.
  • Communicate between suppliers and customers to ensure that contractual nomination data is coordinated through the delivery chain.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
