About The Position

This internship role focuses on managing the buying process for a given set of goods and applying sourcing policy. The intern will interface between suppliers and the entity regarding specifications and budgets, gaining an in-depth understanding of key business drivers to accomplish project work. The role also involves understanding how the team's work integrates with other teams and contributes to the broader area. GE Vernova's mission is to electrify and decarbonize the world, and this role contributes to that mission through innovation in the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in undergrad or graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft 356 Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Effective oral and writing communication skills
  • Ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to access priorities and take appropriate actions as a motivated self-starter
  • Passion for process and data analysis
  • Confidence and ability to deal with ambiguity in the workplace
  • Experience working in a large, multiple site corporation and ability to engaged with others in remote locations

Responsibilities

  • Place and follow-up on Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers
  • Generate RFQs (Request For Quotation)
  • Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution
  • Manage problems and schedule changes
  • Update Purchase Orders in ERP
