Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 1 year of gas pipeline experience.
- Operator Qualification (OQ).
Nice To Haves
- Class A CDL.
- 2 or more years of gas pipeline experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs various welding tasks associated with new construction, repair and maintenance of existing gas utility lines and related systems/equipment such as welding pipe casings, welding vault lids and pipe fittings, welding metal parts together, welding hot gas mains, repairing broken or cracked parts, fabricating special parts and apparatus.
- Support crew with handling and fusing gas pipe.
- Fuse pipe that is ditched or drilled in the ground.
- Ensure every fuse meets quality standards.
- Keep tools in complete working order.
- Locate utilities by hand with a shovel and probe.
- Manage inventory on the truck.
- Teach other employees how to fuse pipe to the correct specs.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
