About The Position

Under general supervision, the Gas Service Technician D is responsible for performing assigned duties including Install, set, remove, transfer, turn on and turn off meters; diagnose problems, meter, appliance relighting, maintenance & inspection and other assigned work, in accordance with Company Safety Standards, and in compliance with Company, State, and Federal Codes and Regulations for duties described. Gas Service Technician D is responsible for successfully completing all OJT tasks and examinations as required. Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.

Requirements

• Must pass the EEI CAST Test.
• Satisfactory completion of a pre-screening (for new hires), completion of company training programs, evaluations and written test.
• Pass a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test in accordance with D.O.T regulations.
• Possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work independently and outdoors in all types of varying weather conditions.
• Physically capable of walking long distances while carrying gas meters/tools.
• 2 years of related mechanical experience
• History of safe working habits.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational, mechanical, or plumbing training is highly preferred
• Gas utility experience preferred
