The apprentice program gives diesel mechanics hands-on experience with light, medium, and heavy trucks. Apprentice diesel mechanics will learn how to inspect, repair, and maintain a diesel engine and its mechanical components. An apprenticeship prepares technicians for work as a diesel mechanic through training hours in a repair shop under an experienced mechanic, as well as more formal instruction in a classroom setting. The company encourages applicants with fleet or dealership experience.

Requirements

Control Precision - the ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
Arm-Hand Steadiness - the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
Manual Dexterity - the ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Multilimb Coordination - the ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
Ability to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle, finger or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Ability to occasionally kneel or crouch.
Ability to occasionally exert or lift to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities that include close vision.

Documents actions by completing records.

Perform Preventive Maintenance Services (PM) and PM related repairs with supervision such as but not limited to oil changes, change tires, balance tires, lube chassis, repair lights (trucks & trailers), adjust brakes, clutches, replace fan belts, etc.
