About The Position

Valleyview Co-op is currently seeking a Full-time Gas Bar/C-Store Manager to
lead the operations of our Gas Bar/C- Store in Melita, Manitoba.

This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving sales growth,
maintaining high merchandising standards, and ensuring exceptional customer
service. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the store team
while managing financial performance, inventory, and administrative processes.

Requirements

• Grade 12 diploma required; post-secondary diploma or degree preferred
• 1–3 years of retail experience; 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Propane Dispenser Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial performance of the location including sales, margins, expenses, and inventory.
• Analyze monthly financial results and implement strategies to improve performance.
• Participate in the annual budget process and ensure department goals are achieved.
• Ensure strong merchandising, product availability, and promotional execution.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and brand image standards.
• Support marketing initiatives and competitive pricing strategies.
• Lead a customer-focused culture within the store.
• Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve the experience.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and develop team members.
• Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing support.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and safe work environment.
• Oversee receiving, invoices, claims, markdowns, and inventory administration.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Ensure asset protection and loss prevention practices are followed.
