About The Position

Campbell’s Resort is seeking a Gardener Assistant to join their team. This is a variable-hour, seasonal, full-time position with a pay rate of $17.13 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience. The role involves maintaining the resort's grounds, including planting, watering, weeding, pruning, and irrigation. The assistant will also be responsible for tool storage, safety compliance, and assisting guests. This is an outdoor position requiring the ability to work in various weather conditions and potentially long hours, including weekends and holidays, based on seasonal demand.

Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age.
Must hold a valid Washington State driver's license.
Must have enough English language skills to take direction, communicate and perform job standards.
Willing to learn and do new jobs.
Willing to listen and take directions and maintain a positive mental outlook.
Self-motivated: can find work to do without supervision.
Constant walking, standing, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, and stooping, during working hours.
Able to safely lift to 50 pounds and carry loads on flat ground and occasionally carry items upstairs.
Ability to safely operate small power tools.

Plant knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare soil/ground and planter beds for spring flower planting.
Plant, water, weed, and clean flower beds on a regular basis to maintain a clean, attractive resort environment.
Water the grounds by hand and with manual valves.
Digging and repairing irrigation lines.
Prune shrubs at appropriate times and as needed.
Store tools in their proper places.
Follow all safety standards and use proper personal protective equipment.
Offer whatever assistance guests may need.
Act as a team member: show enthusiasm and help other staff to ensure guest satisfaction. Ask for help when you need it.
Suggest improvements to managers to improve the quality of our guest service.
Be knowledgeable about Campbell's services and history, and Lake Chelan recreational opportunities, to answer guests' questions.
