About The Position

The Garden Shop Attendant will have a passion for plants and gardening, excellent customer service skills, and a strong work ethic. This seasonal position runs from September 9th to the end of December. The role involves greeting customers, providing advice on plants and gardening materials, maintaining a clean environment, and stocking merchandise. The attendant will also learn about the seasonality of Garden Shop products, including Spring, Fall, and Christmas items, ensuring displays are full and merchandised with appropriate signage. Quality customer service, including handling complaints, is a key aspect of the role, along with other projects as needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years and older
Safely operate a forklift and all other equipment used in the day to day operation of the garden shop
Demonstrate safe usage of box cutters, skid sheers and other hand tools
Demonstrate a vast knowledge of plants, garden equipment, Christmas trees
Great customer service skills
Good communication skills, both written and oral
Good organizational skills
The ability to multi-task

Knowledge of plants a plus but not required

Responsibilities

Greet customers and assist them with their inquiries and purchases
Provide advice on plants, gardening tools and landscaping materials
Maintain a clean and organized environment
Unpack and stock merchandise on shelves and displays
Learn the seasonality of Garden Shop products, including Spring, Fall and Christmas products
Ensure displays are full and merchandised, with appropriate signage
Provides quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer inquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints
Other projects, as needed
