About The Position
The Garden Center Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the garden center by providing exceptional customer service, maintaining plant health, and ensuring efficient handling of garden products. This role involves customer interaction, product care, and assistance with loading and unloading materials.
Requirements
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently as as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in locating product and answering gardening-related questions.
- Answer phone calls professionally and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Process transactions accurately using cash, debit, credit card and gift cards.
- Provide guidance to customers on plant care, soil amendments, seed starting and lawn care.
- Assist with unloading incoming garden center stock.
- Load customers vehicles with garden products.
- Water, fertilize and maintain the health of all plant materials.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the garden center and surrounding yard areas.
- Stay informed on product care instructions and usage recommendations.
- Take every reasonable precaution to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
- Other duties as assigned.
