About The Position

A Merchandiser will use strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain a positive working relationship with store personnel. Merchandising the live goods displays according to plan-o-gram and ensuring the CULL process is utilized properly. Managing the inventory levels and maintenance of the live goods for GMS customers (Vendors) is another responsibility. The Merchandiser will adhere to company policy, including store hours, store policies and proper utilization of Apps.

Requirements

Ability to download required apps, and utilize per company policy every work day
Able to meet the physical demands of the job which includes: standing for prolonged periods, reaching and bending repeatedly, lifting, pushing and pulling safely up to 50 pounds
Willing to work in all weather conditions
Available to work weekends and Holidays when required
Ability to execute plan-o-grams and signage guidelines
Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
Must be self-motivated, hardworking, energetic, detail oriented and able to work independently

Responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships, interact professionally and maintain effective communication with diverse groups, including store management teams and associates and GMS Merchandising personnel
Unload racks, build attractive displays on Garden Center tables, according to plan-o-gram
Ensure displayed merchandise is condensed and signed properly
Remove distressed product from display
Keep the display area clean and well-organized
Minimize markdowns and shrink by utilizing the cull process
Communicate daily with manager and follow up on all requests from management in a timely manner
Understand and follow all Grower Merchandising standard operating procedures and policies, including work hours and APP utilization
