About The Position
This entry-level team member position at Meijer is responsible for delivering remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. The role involves a variety of retail tasks related to product, customer service, pricing, inventory, and merchandising. Key aspects include building rapport with customers, displaying a friendly demeanor, assisting with customer inquiries, stocking products, maintaining displays according to merchandising standards, and utilizing technology for tasks. The position is applicable to various departments such as Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal, and Floral. Team members are expected to collaborate with managers and other team members on additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong listening and communications skills, face-to-face and virtually.
- Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
- Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
- Process-driven and able to follow procedures in an organized and efficient way.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling product.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Desire to work with customers on a consistent basis.
Responsibilities
- Deliver remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude.
- Build rapport with customers.
- Display a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
- Help customers with any questions they may have.
- Direct customers to another team member who can answer their questions if you are unable to.
- Stock product and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
- Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks.
- Collaborate with other team members and managers on additional tasks as needed.
