About The Position

Westborn Market, a third-generation owned and operated business with four locations across Metro Detroit, started in 1963 focusing on quality fruit and vegetables and has since expanded. This seasonal Garden Center Associate position, active for May, June, and July, involves maintaining the outdoor garden center with a focus on watering, plant maintenance, and providing professional, efficient customer service. The role requires a high level of product knowledge, heavy lifting, and will primarily be performed outdoors.

Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in various conditions (heat, rain, etc.)
• Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, and be on feet for majority of shift

Responsibilities

• Waters and maintains overall outdoor plant health
• Assists with unloading, organizing, and stocking deliveries from floral truck
• Provides exceptional customer service by helping load purchases to customer's car when needed, answering questions, giving recommendations, etc.
• Assists floral team in store when needed with watering, wrapping, operating POS system
• Stocks supplies as needed
• Maintains current knowledge of product
• Maintains a clean and organized work area free of hazards
• Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy
• Keeps positive and helpful attitude during length of shift
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
