About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Garbage Truck Helper to join our waste management team in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will assist the driver in collecting residential and commercial waste, ensuring timely and efficient service while maintaining safety standards.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in waste collection or similar roles is a plus but not mandatory.
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the garbage truck driver in collecting trash, recyclables, and other waste materials from assigned routes.
• Manually load waste into the truck, ensuring proper handling and safety.
• Operate truck controls as needed under the supervision of the driver.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck and equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies during collection routes.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Report any issues or hazards encountered during routes.
