About The Position

The Garage Mechanic position works at various locations and may be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands. This role involves managing the development of equipment in cities and states within a region, with knowledge of the mechanics of equipment ranging from cranes to chainsaws. The mechanic must work safely while performing repairs or maintenance in a garage and in the field in various weather conditions, and be able to troubleshoot equipment repair, maintenance, and deployment in various localities. A significant aspect of the role includes working around energized high voltage systems, requiring skill and care to protect oneself and others. The mechanic is responsible for maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order, and performing all other related work as required to complete the job.

Requirements

  • Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
  • Requires 1-5 years of experience.
  • Must have or able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Must have own general tools.
  • Must be able to learn or perform work in the following disciplines: Hydraulics, Diesel/gas engine – automatic, Chassis and suspension, Welding/metal fabrication, Small tool repair.
  • Must know or be able to learn how to use a computer for: Diagnostics, Equipment Inventory management, Work Orders.
  • Able to work for extended periods throughout various locations, when required.
  • Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Willing to work over-time when requested.
  • Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications of Experiences in any of the following a plus: ASE certification, Ford or international certifications, Altec/Telelect, Hydraulic maintenance, Utility or construction jobs

Responsibilities

  • Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance in a garage and in the field in various weather conditions.
  • Troubleshooting in various localities regarding equipment repair, maintenance and deployment.
  • Frequently work around energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others while performing job.
  • Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
  • Does all other related work as required to complete the job
