The Garage Door Installer is responsible for the safe and professional installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of garage doors for Williams dealers and residential customers. This role requires mechanical aptitude, physical agility, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Installers work closely with internal staff and external clients to ensure timely and accurate completion of installations in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proficient in the use of hand tools, battery-powered tools, and AC-powered tools
• Experience with Garage Door Installation
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and internal staff
• Ability to follow well-defined instructions and established procedures
• Comfortable working under close supervision while maintaining a high level of professionalism
• Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and installation methods
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• 0-2 years of relevant trades experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and be insurable under company insurance policy
• Must be able to safely and effectively perform all primary job responsibilities in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing up to 75 lbs, including repetitive handling and team lifts for heavier items
• Regular use of safety equipment including ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and harnesses (when required) to access elevated work areas

Responsibilities

• Installation & troubleshooting of garage doors
• Courteous and effective communication, verbal and text/email, with external customers and internal Williams staff
• Consistent completion of jobs/tasks in accordance with manager and/or trainer instruction regarding installation and operations processes and procedures
• Confirm installation requirements by reading and understanding manuals, codes and other related materials
• Utilization of electronic scheduling system using a smart phone or tablet
• Other jobs and responsibilities as may be assigned by Installation Services Manager; GM of Garage Door Products or other senior level management.
• Follow standard operating procedures, established work processes and Company policies
• Perform additional tasks as required
