About The Position

The Gantry Operator will be responsible for operating an overhead crane, loading and unloading trucks, and stacking/storing materials using safe techniques. This role involves grouping materials, handling heavy machinery, and collaborating with shipping staff. The operator will also measure and verify oversized loads, report any defects in materials, tools, and equipment to the supervisor, and ensure the work area is kept clean. Adherence to safety rules and quality procedures is essential.

Requirements

Experience operating an overhead crane
Spoken and written languages: French and English (an asset)
Manual dexterity
Good physical condition
Attention to detail, initiative and organizational skills
Teamwork

Responsibilities

Operating an overhead crane
Loading and unloading trucks
Stacking/Storage using safe techniques
Grouping materials according to lists
Handling heavy machinery
Working in collaboration with shipping staff
Measuring and verifying oversized loads
Noting and reporting to the supervisor any defects in materials, tools and equipment, and protecting them from damage
Keeping your work area clean
Observing and applying safety rules
Following quality procedures, work instructions or company manufacturing standards
Any other related tasks
