About The Position

The Director of Gaming Operations provides executive leadership and strategic direction for all gaming operations at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel. The position is responsible for the overall performance, profitability, operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, guest experience, and long-term development of the casino's gaming operations. The Director establishes strategic and operational priorities; develops and manages revenue, expense, profit, and capital objectives; provides leadership and direction to gaming management; and works collaboratively with executive leadership and other departments to ensure an efficient, compliant, and exceptional guest experience. The Director serves as a member of the Executive Committee and is expected to maintain a visible leadership presence throughout gaming operations, including during evenings, weekends, high-volume periods, and other times when business needs require.

Requirements

Minimum seven (7) years of experience in casino gaming operations, with exposure to multiple areas of gaming operations.
Progressive management and leadership experience within casino gaming operations.
Broad-based knowledge of gaming operations, management, administration, and accounting.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations and multiple gaming disciplines.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial performance, operational objectives, and business plans.
Experience leading managers and developing high-performing teams.
Experience working within a regulated gaming environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of casino gaming operations.
Knowledge of bingo, slot, and table games operations.
Knowledge of sportsbook operations.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction for all gaming operations, including slot, table games, bingo, sportsbook, slot technical services, and related gaming functions.
Develop and implement short-range and long-range gaming strategies consistent with the overall goals and objectives of Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel.
Establish departmental priorities, operating objectives, performance expectations, and accountability standards.
Evaluate gaming operations, market conditions, competitive activity, customer trends, and business opportunities to identify opportunities for growth and improved performance.
Participate as a member of the Executive Committee and contribute to property-wide strategic planning and decision-making.
Provide senior leadership with timely information, analysis, recommendations, and operational updates regarding gaming performance and emerging issues.
Develop and manage plans to achieve budgeted gaming revenue, profit, expense, labor, and capital objectives.
Monitor gaming financial performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue, profitability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Review operating results, forecasts, budgets, and performance trends and take appropriate corrective action when objectives are not being met.
Develop and evaluate capital improvement and equipment requirements and provide recommendations regarding priorities and investments.
Ensure gaming resources are utilized effectively and in a manner that supports the financial objectives of the organization.
Work collaboratively with Finance and other appropriate departments on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning.
Direct and oversee the effective operation of all gaming areas and related gaming support functions.
Establish and maintain operating standards that promote efficiency, profitability, regulatory compliance, and a high-quality guest experience.
Analyze gaming operations to identify opportunities for improved productivity, revenue generation, cost control, and service delivery.
Ensure appropriate coordination among slot, table games, bingo, sportsbook, slot technical services, and other gaming functions.
Monitor operational performance and address issues affecting the safety, efficiency, integrity, or profitability of gaming operations.
Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, deployment, and utilization of gaming personnel consistent with operational requirements.
Maintain a regular and visible presence on the casino floor and throughout gaming operations.
Respond appropriately to significant operational issues, guest concerns, emergencies, and other situations requiring senior gaming leadership.
Ensure gaming operations are conducted in accordance with applicable governmental requirements, regulatory requirements, company policies, internal controls, and established procedures.
Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, integrity, and operational control throughout the Gaming Department.
Work with appropriate regulatory, compliance, internal audit, security, surveillance, and other departments to address regulatory and operational requirements.
Ensure identified deficiencies, compliance concerns, and operational issues are appropriately addressed and corrected.
Maintain appropriate knowledge of requirements affecting bingo, slot, table games, sportsbook, and other applicable gaming operations.
Support and cooperate with internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, investigations, and compliance initiatives.
Ensure gaming management and staff receive appropriate training regarding applicable policies, procedures, operational standards, and regulatory requirements.
Promote a positive, professional, and welcoming gaming environment that supports guest satisfaction and loyalty.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with guests, employees, community representatives, business partners, and other appropriate stakeholders.
Address significant guest concerns and escalated service issues in a timely, professional, and appropriate manner.
Maintain satisfactory public relations through direct or delegated contacts.
Work with the Marketing Director to ensure gaming operations effectively support casino promotions, marketing initiatives, player incentives, and reward programs.
Collaborate with other departments to provide a consistent and exceptional overall guest experience.
Provide effective leadership, direction, coaching, and support to Gaming Department managers and employees.
Maintain high employee morale through positive communication, effective management, recognition, accountability, and regular training.
Establish clear expectations for departmental managers and hold leaders accountable for operational, financial, service, compliance, and employee performance.
Develop the capabilities of gaming leadership through coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development.
Support succession planning and development of future gaming leaders.

Address performance and personnel matters appropriately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Promote effective communication and cooperation between Gaming Operations and other areas of the property.
Participate in property-wide initiatives and projects that affect gaming operations or the overall guest experience.
Represent Gaming Operations in appropriate organizational meetings, committees, projects, and initiatives.
Monitor gaming equipment, systems, technology, and infrastructure to support reliable, efficient, and compliant gaming operations.
Identify operational technology and equipment needs and make recommendations regarding replacement, upgrades, and capital investment.
Coordinate with appropriate departments and vendors regarding gaming-related technology, equipment, projects, and implementation.
Evaluate operational impacts and business opportunities associated with new gaming technologies, equipment, and systems.
Maintain a visible leadership presence on the casino floor and within gaming operations.
Regularly work evenings, weekends, holidays, high-volume periods, and other nontraditional hours as operational needs require.
Remain available to address significant gaming operational matters and emergencies as required.
Travel as needed in support of organizational and professional responsibilities.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
