The Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation, owns and operates a Casino and a Golf Resort, and owns a number of other business ventures in the San Diego Region. Sycuan is more than just a business; it is a community of people working together toward a common goal. Whether you work in their state-of-the-art Casino, their beautiful Resort, or become a staff member in their Tribal Government division, you will be part of the Sycuan family. This position actively participates in an established two-year learning and training curriculum designed to educate the intern on the importance and functionality of a Gaming Commissioner and to prepare the intern to fully perform the role of a Gaming Commissioner.

Requirements

Enrolled Tribal Member of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation
High School Diploma or G.E.D or equivalent
21 years of age or older
Willingness to commit to a two year comprehensive internship program
Willingness and ability to receive instructions and follow directives
Willingness to adhere to established schedules
Willingness and ability to complete learning and training assignments
Ability to communicate effectively with staff members

Responsibilities

Understands and adheres to the established Code of Ethics, Confidentiality Agreement and Policies and Procedures set forth by the Gaming Commission
Attends and observes all meetings and hearings scheduled by the Gaming Commission
Participates in educational and training activities established for each internal department of the Gaming Commission to include Administration, Audit, Compliance, Background/Licensing, Regulations, and Surveillance
Participates in established external educational and training activities to include NIGA, NTGC/R, NIGC, Joseph Eve, and BSA/AML
Commits and completes assignments as directed by the Gaming Commission Chairperson
