About The Position

The position of Gaming Auditor is a full-time position with the South Dakota Commission on Gaming. The Gaming Auditor will conduct gaming revenue tax and compliance audits, enforce the rules and regulations of the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, and participate in evaluations of casino business practices through onsite observation programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum education of a high school diploma/GED
  • Experience in gaming accounting and/or auditing
  • Experience working in collaborative team environments
  • Demonstrating effective time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, interpersonal skills, discretion, confidentiality, and a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of gaming industry
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
  • Knowledge of effective written and verbal communication techniques
  • Knowledge of auditing practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to understand and interpret state laws, rules, and regulations as they apply to South Dakota gaming activities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to gather, organize, and present information effectively and in a logical sequence
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, other agencies, and the public
  • Ability to meet deadlines, think critically, and solve problems
