About The Position

The Tribal Gaming Agent monitors, detects, verifies, and reports gaming violations and other unwanted activity at the gaming facility in order to protect the Tribes’ assets, reputation, standards, and to ensure compliance with Federal and Tribal laws, rules, regulations, and provisions contained within the Class II National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) & Tribal – State Compact.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Must pass a credit and criminal background check and suitable to hold a gaming license under tribal, state and federal requirements
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License
  • Must have UA testing prior to employment
  • Must have knowledge and ability in the use of office equipment (i.e.-computers, copiers, 10-keys etc.), Microsoft Office programs
  • Must have strong mathematical and accounting abilities for computing and verifying daily cash transactions.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and investigative reporting skills
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, rotating shift schedules, and any shift assigned

Nice To Haves

  • 12 months’ experience in the Casino industry and/or Regulatory Agency
  • Knowledge and experience in conducting financial investigations, including fraud, record searching, and criminal investigations
  • Knowledge of Class II gaming regulations and rules as applicable per the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), the Tribal-State Compact, the Lower Elwha Gaming Commission, and the Internal Controls of Casino Operations
  • Excellent knowledge in the operation and maintenance of digital surveillance systems

Responsibilities

  • Understand implications of, and apply, Federal, State, and Tribal gaming rules and regulations
  • Perform compliance monitoring of the casino operation to ensure compliance with the NIGC/MICS/TICS/SICS regulations
  • Ensuring and upholding the integrity and fairness of the casino operation procedures by monitoring all gaming activities
  • Performs compliance audits, investigate potential fraud and/or compliance violations of all regulated gaming activities.
  • Maintain detailed logs and incident reports of daily regulated activities, suspicious activity/incidents, medical incidents throughout the casino property
  • Perform equipment inspections by testing and verifying certification of electronic gaming machines and other gaming equipment for technical compliance and accuracy.
  • Conduct gaming software and hardware removals and/or installations
  • Maintains awareness of guest/staff for the potential of cheating, theft, embezzlement and other illegal activities in the gaming facility, including all sensitive and restricted areas
  • Safeguards patrons, staff and the facility by recognizing and reporting potential or existing safety hazards, internal and external threats
  • Work in conjunction with Law Enforcement during an investigation and may be required to testify before the Commission and/or a court of jurisdiction
  • Assist with Surveillance by observing monitors, operating cameras and completing activity logs
  • Perform required regulatory escorts throughout the casino property and necessary escorts off-site.
  • Perform other duties throughout the department as assigned by the Department Supervisor, Manager or Director
  • Attend meetings, training or other proceedings as designated by the TGA Supervisor or Director
