About The Position

Under the direction of the Supervising Gaming Agents, the Gaming Agent I reviews the activities of a licensed gaming facility, with a focus on certifying revenue. The individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional relationships with the operators and managers of the casinos and maintaining constant communication with Supervisors in their assigned casino. The Gaming Agent I also works closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. The Gaming Agent I conducts regulatory investigations and prepares complex, detailed reports. The Gaming Agent – Encore Boston position has a schedule that rotates 4 days-on, 2 days-off. Duties may include, but are not limited to, assisting Supervising Gaming Agents with the recommendation and creation of policies and procedures within the IEB’s Gaming Agent unit. This role involves observing operations and records of the casino property, including monitoring activities in the count room and cage for the purpose of monitoring revenue and compliance with regulations and applicable laws. It also includes reviewing and auditing casino records, including accounting records for the purpose of identifying deficiencies and inconsistencies in casino internal controls, and observing the gaming floor for suspicious activity. The Gaming Agent I will also review slot machine activity for inconsistencies in functionality. This role requires tracking and reporting on all items reviewed, reporting any instances of noncompliance and participating in IEB investigations into these matters. Cooperation with officers assigned to the Gaming Enforcement Unit and other members of law enforcement is expected as needed on investigations into and prosecution of criminal activity. When necessary, the Gaming Agent I will provide testimony in hearings or court proceedings. The role also involves listening to concerns and complaints from patrons and members of the public and collaborating with licensees and other gaming officials, and/or law enforcement to resolve those complaints.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to receive instruction from multiple supervisors.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum three years working in an office or casino environment; or a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of an extensive background check conducted by the Massachusetts State Police, including a full credit check, CORI, fingerprinting, drug test, reference checks, review of IRS Income Tax Transcripts for the last four years, and a Certificate of Good Standing from the Massachusetts Dept. of Revenue (DOR).
